Traveling In Style – 2017 Lincoln Continental
Everybody has a dream car. A car that if they came into a lot of money somehow, that car would be the first thing they would buy. It may be a luxury car, sports car, sports utility vehicle, truck, etc. Whatever it may be, you will look good and feel good in it. It makes you feel like you have “arrived” and you can walk with a swagger because you are traveling in style. Not everybody is fortunate enough to have their dream car. At some point, you stop dreaming and just pray for a car to get you from point “A” to point “B”. But today, we are going to bring that dream back. Let’s dream about a luxury car. A Lincoln as a matter of fact.
Quick History About Lincoln
Lincoln was founded by Henry Leland in 1917 after he departed from another car company, Cadillac, in which he co-founded. Lincoln was originally a company that supplied aircraft engines for the Army during World War I. After the war, Leland converted his factory from supplying aircraft engines to manufacturing luxury automobiles. Unfortunately, Leland’s company went through hard times early on and had to go into bankruptcy where he sold Lincoln to Ford in 1922 for $8 million. In 1936, the most successful Lincoln model was introduced: the Lincoln Zephyr.
Best Luxury Brand In The United States
By 1998, Lincoln had become one of the best-sold luxury brands in the United States thanks to designs such as the Towncar and Navigator. Lincoln cars, most notably, the Towncar is one of the best and most popular cars used as limousines because of the longer body style and comfort which makes it easier to transition into a stretch limo. Lincoln cars are also the most used for Presidential movement. However, in the last few years, the Lincoln Motor Company has experienced severe setbacks due to having lost to Asian and European imports because of the lack of new models which they hope to solve by releasing the new MKZ and MKX. If Matthew McConaughey can’t revive Lincoln, then I don’t know what can. He’s just cool like that!
Now, let’s get to the real reason why we are here. The new Lincoln Continental. If you haven’t seen this car, you are missing a treat. This has to be one of the best looking cars I have ever seen. It is very stylish, muscular in build, almost like a Bently. It’s a powerful, midsize luxury sedan that is comfortable, sleek and spacious. The seats are heated, they can recline and also come with a massage function. But, that’s not all. You can get the 10-way position powered adjustable seats which come standard or get the optional perfect position 30-way powered adjustable seats. This is something you need to see for yourself.
Not only are you going to feel good and look good in this car, but you will arrive at your destination in no time. The top of the line model has a 3L, turbocharged V6, 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The Lincoln Continental will go from 0 to 60 in 5.4 seconds and will get up to 18 city / 27 highway mpg. You will have plenty of room not only inside the car but in the trunk as well with 16.7 cu ft for things like, you know, your luggage when you are going on vacation. So, if you are thinking about getting one of these beauties, expect to pay around $45,000 for the base model to $80,000 for the top tier Black Label version. If you need help making up your mind here’s Matthew McConaughey again. Maybe he can help you with your decision.
